Product Info

Made of soft Merino wool, these woolen overpants are suitable even for very small babes. The high knitted waistband not only stops leaks but helps keep babies tummy warm.

What is it made from?

Merino Wool

What else do i need?

You will need the absorbent part of the nappy underneath, we recommend the Reusabelles Fitted Nappy or the Pumpkin Brown Exclusives Reusbabelles fitted Nappy.
You will also need Lanolin - we recommend Poppets Lanolin because it smells so damn good!

How do i use it?

The cover is super easy to use, just pull it on over your chosen absorbent nappy.

But How does it work?

The way it works is that the wool absorbs any leaks from the nappy underneath which are then neutralised by the natural lanolin in wool.  If the wrap gets damp, then just hang it out to dry. Thanks to the natural self-cleaning function of the wool fibres, the pants are left hygienically clean.  If the wrap gets soiled or starts leaking, then you will need to wash it and relanolise as below.

Disana Wool wraps are sold lanolised but we recommend lanolising prior to use.

Please lanolise before first use to waterproof the wool or they will not work.   We recommend doing this three times before use. You will need to repeat about once a month.

Everyday Care

Disana's Merino wool is naturally self-cleaning. For everyday use hang your wool clothing to air rather than wash. You want to wash if the cover becomes soiled, starts to leak or every few weeks or so.

How to Hand Wash Wool

When washing is required we recommend washing your wool garment by hand. When handwashing, great care is needed to ensure the garment does not shrink or 'felt':
  • Fill up your bowl or sink, adding liquid wool soap or if you are using a solid wool soap give it a swish around in the water until it is soapy. Use a thermometer to ensure the temperature stays under 30°C.
  • Add your cover, gently stirring and squeezing the water through.
  • Rinse through using water cooler than 30°c.
  • To dry, gently squeeze water out and wrap the wool clothes in a towel to remove the excess water. Air-dry naturally avoiding direct heat
  • Re-lanolise to use.
